Creative ministry in the wild:
buildings, bulletins, and the Body of Christ.

My service to the church has never been confined to the pew. It stretches across the sanctuary, the screen, the studio, and the sidewalk. I’ve offered my gifts wherever they’re needed—designing a stewardship campaign, singing in the choir, leading a prayer group, or fixing a broken handrail. Whether I'm building a brand or a compost bin, it's all part of the same call: to nurture the church as a place of beauty, justice, and belonging.

Parish Life at Christ Church in Short Hills Active Parishioner | 2017–Present

Since 2017, I’ve been an active member of Christ Church in Short Hills, where I serve in both creative and leadership roles. I sing in the choir, read regularly as a lay leader, and co-lead a weekly prayer group that has become a vital part of my spiritual rhythm. I’ve twice been elected to the vestry and currently chair the Buildings & Grounds Committee, where I help steward our sacred space with practical love and long-term planning.

Over the years, I’ve contributed to the life of the parish in many forms—from writing and designing Lenten devotionals, to speaking during stewardship campaigns, to helping organize our 140th anniversary celebration. In 2023, 2024, and 2025, I have been honored to receive Polly Bond Awards from Episcopal Communicators for my work in church communications—recognition that affirmed both the impact and the care behind these offerings.

Work with the Episcopal Diocese of Newark
2017–Present

My diocesan work blends strategic design, tech problem-solving, and deep ecclesial understanding. Since 2020, I’ve been the lead branding designer for the Episcopal Diocese of Newark’s annual convention, crafting a visual identity that honors the Church’s mission while energizing its presence in the public square.

Before that, I served on the Tech & Communications Committee, offering support and infrastructure strategy to help parishes engage their communities more effectively. I’ve consulted with churches like Trinity & St. Philip’s Cathedral in Newark and St. Mary’s in Sparta to refresh their websites and align their visual identity with their message. I’ve also developed stewardship campaigns for parishes such as St. Peter’s in Mountain Lakes, always grounding the design in storytelling, theology, and accessibility.

In addition to this, I’ve led workshops for diocesan youth gatherings and the Crossroads counselors, helping young people and emerging leaders use creative practices to explore faith, identity, and voice.

Parish Collaborations Beyond the Diocese
Outside New Jersey, I’ve had the privilege of working with churches across the country, including St. Martin’s in Houston and St. Mark’s in New Canaan. With each project—whether a stewardship campaign or a Holy Week event series—I’ve collaborated closely with clergy and lay teams to ensure that design serves mission, not just aesthetics. These partnerships are built on mutual trust, creative listening, and a shared desire to invite people more deeply into the life of the church.

A Living Practice
For me, church service is a form of creative ministry—one that integrates my skills as a designer and my heart as a person of faith. I don’t separate the spiritual from the strategic. Every campaign, flyer, liturgy, and leadership role is part of a larger call: to help the Church live more clearly, communicate more effectively, and embody more fully the love it proclaims.
