Creativity Care Classes Low-pressure workshops for high-impact people.
Creativity Care classes are designed to help mission-driven practitioners recharge, reconnect, and remember why they do this work in the first place. These workshops combine design fundamentals, spiritual grounding, and hands-on art-making to restore your creative spark.

I structure every offering to fit the group—whether you're a team of nonprofit staffers, educators, volunteers, or faith leaders. No experience required, just a willingness to make and reflect.

Postcards of the Once and Future Self, Winter 2024

A Reflective Printmaking Workshop
This hands-on workshop blends mono-printing, collage, and creative writing into a powerful act of self-care. Participants create up to four original postcards or letters designed to support and inspire their future selves throughout the year.

Using brayers, stencils, and found objects, attendees learn mono-printing techniques to build vibrant textures and layered backgrounds. They then incorporate collage and thoughtful composition to shape visually compelling, personal messages. Color theory, layout, and visual storytelling are explored as each piece takes form.

At the close of the workshop, all work is collected and safely stored. The instructor, Libby Clarke, mails each piece back to its creator at pre-selected intervals, offering future reminders of care, clarity, and encouragement. All materials and postage are included.

Designed as an antidote to the pressure of New Year resolutions, this workshop invites a slower, more generous approach—supporting reflection, intention, and creative renewal.

Illuminated Prayers (Images from Youth Workshop, November 2024)

lluminated Prayers is a hands-on sacred art retreat that brings scripture to life through visual reflection and traditional techniques. Drawing deep inspiration from The Saint John’s Bible—a modern illuminated manuscript created with ancient tools—this workshop invites participants to explore their own spirituality through art, prayer, and sacred imagination.

Guided by artist and facilitator Libby Clarke, participants will create their own illuminated prayers using materials like gold leaf, watercolor, and archival ink. We will spend the day engaging scripture with our eyes, hands, and hearts.
No artistic experience is required—just a willingness to slow down, listen deeply, and create from a place of reverence.

Workshop Goals
  • Deepen personal and communal engagement with scripture through creative reflection
  • Introducing the St. John’s Bible as a model of visual theology and contemplative beauty
  • Teach gold leafing and illumination techniques using accessible, meaningful practices
  • Provide time, tools, and space for developing original compositions
  • Encourage prayerful creativity as a spiritual practice

Typography NOW!Buy your copy

I have designed my own approach to introducing anyone to typography.

Each segment supports a major lesson I use to teach people about the power of typesetting. You can see the results of one group with whom I used this workbook here.

Want to learn about type?

I am happy to lead groups through this series of lessons. Reach out if you want some instruction! I love to introduce people to the joys of great design. It makes me feel like I am helping improve life in general by empowering others to confidently send their messages.

How Classes Work
I customize every session based on your venue, group makeup, and purpose. Whether the focus is reflection, skill-building, or group bonding, I use a mix of design principles, printmaking, paper craft, and creative inquiry to meet the moment.
