Community Work Design is service—and service is sacred.I believe creative practice should be accessible, generous, and grounded in community. In addition to my studio and teaching work, I regularly lead workshops, create free resources, and support mission-aligned groups who might not otherwise have access to professional design.

My community work blends education, activism, and design—all offered through a lens of care.

Recent Community Projects

Christ Church in Short Hills
As a member of the Christ Church community, I threw myself into designing a celebration worthy of 140 years of faith, service, and connection. I led the creative direction for the anniversary gala, producing a full suite of materials—including donor recognition signage, a hand-illustrated campus map, and a commemorative event handbook.

The campaign I developed for the gala continues to define the church’s visual identity and voice today, grounding future work in the spirit of that milestone year. The celebration helped raise over $140,000 and deepened the bonds of this vibrant spiritual home.

Everloving Pride
As part of my ongoing commitment to equity and belonging, I created Everloving Pride—a collection of free social media graphics designed to help churches, schools, and nonprofits show visible, year-round support for LGBTQIA+ people. These tools make it easy for mission-driven organizations to stand in solidarity, spark conversations, and create more welcoming spaces, not just in June, but always.

Support Posters Workshops

This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the history and power of protest posters—and to make their own. Rooted in collective care and creative expression, I’ve taught this session in classrooms, libraries, and churches, helping people of all ages turn their convictions into bold, visible messages. Whether you're new to activism or a seasoned advocate, the workshop offers a space to reflect, connect, and create change—one poster at a time.

SOMA Against Hate Collective:
Community Design in Action

In December 2019, when white supremacist propaganda appeared in Maplewood and South Orange, I was honored to be part of the immediate community response. Working with SOMA Action and the newly formed SOMA Against Hate Collective—a coalition of local religious congregations, nonprofits, and advocacy groups—I designed two signs that quickly became symbols of solidarity across our towns.

The signs, unveiled at the Community Coalition on Race’s 2020 MLK Day program, were created to send a clear and visible message: white supremacy and hate have no home here. Through the collective’s rapid mobilization, we produced and distributed 1,000 signs in just a few weeks, helping residents make a public stand for inclusion and justice. To this day, my designs can still be seen on lawns throughout South Orange and Maplewood, alongside Black Lives Matter and Pride signs, as lasting affirmations of our community’s commitment to anti-racism and solidarity.

Mentorship for Emerging Creatives
I offer one-on-one mentorship to high school and college students preparing for careers in art and design—especially those navigating the path without institutional support. From portfolio reviews and application guidance to honest conversations about life in the creative industries, I aim to meet each student where they are.

My goal is to demystify the process, build confidence, and open doors for the next generation of artists and designers—because talent shouldn’t be limited by access.

Collaborations through Stoneroller Cooperative
Under the Stoneroller Cooperative banner, I partner with organizations doing essential work—especially those operating on the margins, underfunded, or overlooked. I provide branding, design, and communication support—often pro bono or at sliding scale—because I believe access to strong visual storytelling shouldn’t be a luxury. Whether it’s helping a small church launch a giving campaign or supporting a grassroots group’s visibility push, these collaborations are about showing up with skill, listening hard, and building tools that help good work go further.

Open Hearts Weekend with Harmonium Choral Society

In a time of rising hate crimes, I was honored to support Harmonium Choral Society in creating Open Hearts—a bold weekend of concerts, conversations, and community centered around LGBTQ+ inclusion and healing through music. As the branding lead and designer, I developed the visual identity and produced a compelling event handout that framed the weekend’s purpose: to use the power of music to inspire dialogue, honor lived experience, and unite diverse communities.

Exhibitions and Programming Subcommittee: South Orange Arts Advisory Council

I chaired this subcommittee as we played a crucial role in mapping out arts programming for the township during the Baird Center/Pierro Gallery building renovations. We had be a special emphasis on public art and community-driven arts initiatives and partnerships.

I built a simple website, instituted communication systems, and began gathering data for a SOMA-wide map of arts and culture programming. We were able to institute a poetry series, dance programming, art shows, dispense funds, and apply for grants and more in the year we worked together.
